Ideas For a Theme For a Scrapbook

Scrapbooking has been popular in America for over 10 years and in recent years it has become more and more popular around the world. If you are looking to start a new hobby then scrapbooking could be a good choice and you can create memories either for yourself or as presents for friends and family. If you are already into scrapbooking then here are some ideas to create a scrapbook:

A Holiday Album

You could create an album with photos and mementoes of your holiday - use things like tickets from journeys you took as well as holiday photos and items and receipts that you picked up while you are away. Particularly if the items are in a foreign language and are decorative and colourful, this can help the attractiveness and diversity of your album.

Wedding Album

You could create a scrapbook at a wedding reception if you come prepared. Take a portable printer and get each of the guests to pose at the reception. Print off each picture of the guests and add to a prepared album and get them to sign and write a note under their picture. You could also create an album as a memento of the day as a gift for the bride and groom. Use invitations, the order of service, pictures of the church etc plus maybe some confetti to add variety.

Pregnancy Scrapbook

You can include scan pictures, details of cravings and doctor appointments plus your thoughts and feelings, together with photos.

Family Tree Album

This could include pictures of your family as you go back in the generations and the links and relationships between everyone. You could use this so that your children have a record of their relatives going back as far as you can find. Try and get hold of some old black and white photos of your family and include ribbons to link each family member to each other.

Yearly Album

You can keep all of your tickets, photos, invites, receipts of memorable things that you have done in a year and make this into an album so that you can look back and know exactly what happened to you each year. It is so easy to forget once you get older! Or if you have relatives who live abroad that you don't see very often then you can have an album of what your family has done over the year to give to them as a Christmas present.
